The ISS continues to work with the AU towards improving peace operations on the continent. In the past two months, this has involved a two-week curriculum development workshop on Gender Mainstreaming and Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV) in Peace Operations course. Another workshop was hosted on the development of a curriculum for an 11-day course for police pre-deployment training (PPDT) to ensure standardisation in training of Individual Police Officers (IPOs) to be deployed to missions The Police Strategic Support Group (PSSG) conducted a one week workshop to adopt policies and practices that are critical for the police in executing their mandated roles and responsibilities during peace support operations. Together with NUPI and ACCORD provided support to the AU PSOD, for the development of the AU PSO doctrine and ASF concept.
