From 19-21 October 2016, Training For Peace Program (TfP) Partners supported a workshop undertaken by the African Union Post-Conflict Reconstruction and Development (PCRD) Unit to commemorate the 10th Anniversary of the PCRD Policy Framework. The workshop entitled Ten Years of AU Post-Conflict Reconstruction and Development Policy (PCRD) Implementation: A reflection on progress, opportunities and challenges was held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. This workshop was aimed at providing an opportunity for AUC and its partners to discuss and agree upon a joint strategic plan for the accelerated implementation of the PCRD policy, based on a comprehensive review of past experiences and an in-depth analysis of challenges and opportunities. High-level representatives from the AU Commission – including most AU directorates, AU Liaison Offices (AULOs), Regional Economic Communities (RECs), Civil Society Organisations (CSO), Think Tanks, the United Nations, and Academia devoted to the advancement of PCRD, convened to jointly reflect on what has been achieved and what remains to be done. TfP partners also participated and contributed to the discussions that sought to reflect on the journey of the PCRD policy ten years after its development. TfP partners also provided organizational support that included the drafting of the agenda and background note, presentations during the workshop, constant support and advice, as well as funding support to the event.
