ISS/TfP attended the 5th African Policy Circle (APC) meeting in Windhoek, Namibia. Entitled The African Policy Circle: Strengthening Ties & Leading Change, it was hosted by the Institute for Public Policy Research (Namibia) and supported by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and the Global Public Policy Institute. The workshop brought together about 25-30 experts from African think tanks and civil society organizations to continue with discussions around the role of the APC, to identify common challenges and opportunities for the network and to identify areas of focus for 2017. Also, it had the role to raise awareness and discuss pertinent issues to the development of think tank positions on critical African topics, including AU Post Conflict Reconstruction and Development (PCRD). As part of the engagement, ISS/TfP prepared and presented a position paper on challenges and opportunities for the revitalization of AU PCRD policy, with a particular focus on the potential role for civil society.
