ISS/TfP conducts a Gender, Children and Vulnerable Persons Protection (GCVPP) Training of Trainers (ToT) Course for UNPOL UNMISS

Following the 5-day Gender, Children and Vulnerable Persons Protection (GCVPP) course, ISS/TfP conducted a 3-day GCVPP Trainer-the-Trainer (ToT) course from 15-17 March 2015 for 16 United Nations Police (UNPOL) advisors working with gender and child protection issues in support of the Protection of Civilians (POC) mandate. This is also specifically relating to internally displaced persons (IDPs) in the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) protection environments.
GVCPP ToT Course for UNMISS UNPOL
The course aimed to enhance the capacity of UNPOL advisors in addressing gender, SGBV and child protection in the Protection of Civilians (PoC) environment and particularly relating to the UNMISS POC sites in South Sudan. At the end of the course, participants had enhanced foundational knowledge, skills and personal qualities to more effectively support the UNMISS protection mandate in PoC Sites, including specific attention to gender, SGBV, child protection and vulnerable persons, considering the rule of law and UN and international standards and best practices regarding gender equality, human rights and SGBV prevention and response.
