The annual IPSTC Research Agenda Workshop took place from 4-6 February 2015 in Niarobi, Kenya.  It sought to fulfill a number of objectives, which were aimed at: ·         Providing guidance to the Peace Security Research Department (PSRD) ·         Align the PSRD activities with IPSTC strategies ·         Provide a response to development partners priorities and: ·         Provide a basis to evaluate the performance of the PSRD The ISS/TFP was represented by Ms. Annette Leijenaar at the workshop held in Nairobi, February 2015. This year, the workshop consisted of a smaller group of participants of (40) compared to 2014 where there were 58.  Among the participats were representatives from Universities, research, donor organisations, high commissions, government, defence and human rights experts. The workshop proved to be fruitful as it was delivered during the course of two days. This was ensured through the collaborative efforts and inputs derived from participants seeking to achieve and provide guidance to Peace and Security Research Department (PSRD). ISS/TfP also contributed to the 28 topics for research, which were generated and presented during this workshop. As part of the aimed outcomes, Ms Annette Leijenaar also engaged with International Peace Support Training Centre (IPSTC) and Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) Secretariat to discuss closer cooperation in terms of applied research and police training for EASF. An important outcome of the meeting was the decision that the three organisations will work closely together to present police training, especially for EASF and AMISOM during 2015.
