ISS Addis Ababa: Senior Researcher, Peace Operations and Peacebuilding

The Peace Operations and Peacebuilding (POPB) Programme at the ISS is seeking a senior researcher to work on the Training for Peace (TfP) programme. TfP is an international capacity building program. The researcher will conduct policy research, write publications and produce related communication products, develop practical policy recommendations based on research results, and disseminate the results via briefings, seminars, workshops, training courses as well as regular interaction with the media.

The researcher will be based in Addis Ababa and will report to the head of the Peace Operations and Peacebuilding Programme in Pretoria.

About the Training for Peace (TfP) programme

Training for Peace (TfP) is an international capacity building program that provides direct support to the African Union (AU) on peace and security. It focuses on the African Peace and Security Architecture (APSA) and its link with the African Governance Architecture (AGA). TfP has the following priorities: conflict prevention and peacebuilding, post-conflict reconstruction and development, global security threats like terrorism, cooperation between the AU and Regional Economic Communities, the gender dimension of peace and security, and providing technical guidance on AU peace support operations.
